The first of the fabulous demoiselles was spotted at Whixall Moss last saturday by J. Shields. The metallic green female Banded Demoiselle is shown here.
P.Spear also visited Whixall on Monday and took some fabulous emergence shots of White-faced Darter -the first picture showing the actual larva before it starts the emergence process. Paul also reports loads of Large Red Damselflies, a good number of Four-spotted Chasers and possibly Common Blue Damselflies putting in a first appearance though not confirmed. Great things are really getting underway!
