Paul Spear has been enjoying the dragons and damsels at Coalbrookdale and captured these lovely shots of an emergent White-legged Damselfly. The exuvia below is really quite distinctive for many reasons, one being the distinctive angles at the ‘back corners’of the head and distinctive bulges on the prothorax (nearest the head). Banded (below right) and Beautiful (below left) Demoiselles were also seen, the latter being less common at this site. Paul also photographed Azure Damselflies (far below right) and the marvelous and unmistakable Broad-bodied Chaser ( far below left).
