S. Barlow has been back at Whixall Moss where a good number of species are active. It seems to be one of those weeks where everything is catching up and Common Hawker Aeshna juncea has now joined the scene! Typically the individual was ‘relentlessly on the wing’ so no photo, but enough close fly pasts to allow a positive ID. Stephen also rode along the canal from Whixall to Whitchurch and reported numerous White-legged Damselflies- seems to be a great year for them.
