In between the downpours Migrant Hawker has taken to the skies. Martin Barnes spotted this immature male in Whitchurch on 16th July which is an early sighting for this late summer/autumnal species. Migrant Hawkers are smaller than Southern Hawkers and both the male and female can be readily identified (if still!) by the yellow ‘golf tee’ shape at the top of the abdomen.
