Wild but warm weather is resulting in a good number of sightings in between the downpours. Julian Cartwright has photographed a nice selection of our autumnal species on Magpie Hill near Titterstone Clee Hill. Our smallest dragonfly Black Darter is picture left followed by some great Common Hawker shots- both inflight and a female ovipositing. And finally  a male Emerald Damselfly with the wings held characteristically at 45 degrees. Don’t forget there’s still time to record another spreadwing – Willow Emerald- as yet unrecorded in Shropshire…
