Geoff Hall has seen Willow Emerald at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms- only the second recorded site for this species in Shropshire! This male was seen illustrating the characteristic spread wings, the long abdomen, the large light pterostigma, the pale anal appendages and a ‘ragged spur’ on the side of the thorax. This is a late summer/autumnal species so it will be really interesting to see how far it spreads into Shropshire this season…
