Just 7 years ago neither of these species were recorded in Shropshire and now Tim Walter has sent in photos from Comer Wood of Small Red-eyed Damselflies (left) and Willow Emeralds (below). In other counties the Willow Emerald has been known to fly really quite late into autumn so worth keeping an eye out for some time to come. The light pterostigma and light anal appendages of the male really both stand out as well as the length of abdomen.
