Geoff Hall has sent in this wonderful photo of the white frons (face area) of the White-face Darter seen up at Whixall Moss. The photo below also shows white veins extending beyond the pterostigma towards the wing tips. This is unusual for UK species where typically the veins are dark beyond the pterostigma – as seen in Geoff’s photo of a male Black Darter ( below right).
