Stephen Barlow has sent in this fascinating sequence of photos showing a male Black-tailed Skimmer harassing a female Brown Hawker looking to oviposit. Taken up at Marbury Big Mere, but such interesting photos had to be posted! Incredible that the skimmer is aggravating a hawker that is so much larger than itself. The final photo also at Marbury shows Lesser Emperors again ovipositing in tandem…and even they aren’t left in peace as a Common Blue looks on!
