Jan Shields has been enjoying a host of Common Darters (below) and the first Shropshire Migrant Hawkers for 2016 at Mousecroft Pool, Shrewsbury. Some really lovely in flight shots where you can even see the diagnostic ‘golf tee’ shape on segment 2 of the Migrant Hawker abdomen.
Ron Parnell also photographed this fabulous Brown Hawker (right) at Pole Cottage, Long Mynd, alongside Emerald Damselflies (left below) and male and female Black Darter. The female (below on the right) shows clearly the diagnostic black triangle on top of the thorax.
