Ron Kinrade has sent in these lovely photos of 3 Norfolk Hawkers seen at Whixall Moss on 19th June on the large lake when you have just passed the advertised White-faced Darter pool. The clear wings and striking green eyes are unmistakeable. It’s incredible that Norfolk Hawker is starting to show up in various parts of the UK and now in 2 locations (so far) in Shropshire. The larger Brown Hawker is now also on the wing so if you see any brown dragonfly- take a good look at the eyes and wings (both brown in Brown Hawker). Also please be aware that to my knowledge Norfolk Hawker is still a protected species so shouldn’t be handled or interferred with at all.
