Black Darter recorded on Whixall Moss

By June 24, 2014Blog

Sue Loose was out enjoying the heat of Whixall Moss on Sun 22nd and recorded the first Black Darter of the season- a female photographed beautifully below showing the diagnostic black triangle on top of the thorax and the 3 yellow splashes on the thorax side.

Amongst White-faced Darters, Brown and Southern Hawkers, Broad-bodied Chasers, Azure and Common Blue Damselflies, Sue also saw an Emerald Damselfly female and unlike myself actually got a picture- thank you!
