Emerald Damselfly seen in Pontesbury!

By June 23, 2014Blog

Just a quick update…..struggling to work in the heat I thought time would be better served drifting past a pond or two…and it was…Brown Hawkers, Emperor Dragonfly, a smattering of blue and red damsels and a  female teneral Emerald Damselfly on the wing. Really stunning and interestingly after a while perched with typically spread wings it then closed them. I’m not sure if this is because it was too hot and needed to reduce it’s surface area? Apologies for lack of photo- it was an unplanned visit!
