Jim Almond has sent in some lovely photos of Four-spotted Chasers emerging from his garden pond near Shrewsbury. The pigment is already visible at the base of the wings indicating this is a Chaser (not a Skimmer with clear wings). You can also see the dark pigment at the wing nodes which give this species it’s name (not to be confused with the dark pterostigma towards the end of each wing).
