On the wing at Whixall…

Many of you have been in touch with sightings at Whixall Moss of Large Red and Azure Damselflies, Banded Demoiselles, White-faced Darters and Four-spotted Chasers -seen here in this great photo from P. Spear. L. Wilkinson also reports a praenubila form of Four-spotted Chaser in which far more dark coloration is visible on the wings around the nodes and sometimes on the wing tips. D. Swaby took the lovely photos below at Whixall; White-faced Darter in cop, a male Large Red Damselfly……and another awesome predator- the Hobby.
