Just had a report that Red-veined Darters have been spotted by Steve Stansfield the Warden at the Bardsey Island bird observatory. This means that we may see this rare migrant again in Shropshire. The last Shropshire record was at Venus Pool in 2012. Keep an eye out for for red darters with a single stripe on the thorax side and a blue coloration on the lower half of the eyes- see here on the left.
