Great news from Stephen Barlow on Whixall Moss where on Saturday he spotted the first Shropshire based Large Red Damselfly of 2018 (to my knowledge). Pictured here with milky wings and pale eyes due to fairly recent emergence. So the Shropshire flight season is underway – Whixall Moss is often slightly ahead of everywhere else, but keep checking your local ponds and send in your pics so I can keep everyone else posted.
