Downy Emerald in flight

By June 14, 2016Blog

Two more lovely photos taken by J. Almond last week showing the Downy Emerald in all it’s glory with striking eyes and a really noticeable club shaped abdomen.

J. Almond also photographed this female Blue-tailed damselfly (left) form violacea. A stunning immature insect which will mature to look more like the male in colouration or olive green.

R. Knisely-Marpole has also been catching the Emperor in flight at Attingham Park- this lovely shot clearly showing the apple green thorax, blue abdomen and black dorsal stripe.
