Jan Shields has sent in the first photos of Black-tailed Skimmer; a teneral seen here (left) showing the diagnostic black ladder patterning on the yellow abdomen. Jan also saw a number of Emperors and the first Common Darters though both evaded the camera close- ups- unlike the Four-spotted Chaser (below left). I’ve also received a report of Southern Hawker in Stanwardine though have no way of verifying this as the recorder was anonymous…but it sounds like large dragonflies are imminent…
