Jan Shields took a lunch break at Aston Locks recently and was rewarded with Emperors, Four-spotted Chasers, Black-tailed Skimmers, Azure Damselflies, Banded Demoiselles and our first photo of Red-eyed Damselfly- doing what it’s nearly always doing- sitting on a lily pad..possibly the first ‘normal’ thing to happen in 2020?! Don’t forget 2019 saw the first county sightings of Small Red-eyed Damselfly too- due typically in about a month, but always worth bearing in mind.
