It seems Monday 7th October brought a flurry of later records. Common Darters and Migrant  Hawkers were seen at Dudmaston and Colemere and some of our acidic pool specialists were spotted elsewhere; Stephen Barlow photographed this mating pair of Common Hawkers at Whixall Moss and Geoff Hall saw this male Black Darter (below) at The Bog. I hardly dare utter the words, but the forecast is quite good towards the end of this week so it’s worth keeping an eye out…and there’s still the outside chance of a Willow Emerald…?
