Tim Walters LRPS has sent in this fabulous composite image illustrating the behaviour of an Emperor towards an Emerald Damselfly at Pams Pools near Bridgnorth. The images are ordered left to right and it’s fascinating to see the Emperor turn toward the damselfly. I’m not sure if it bites it but the damselfly certainly flies off bottom right. It’s stunning to see such detail that we’d never catch with the naked eye!
Geoff Hall has also sent in a few photos of dragonflies from the Long Mynd; a wonderful inflight Common Hawker, a male Black Darter (below right) and finally a male Golden-ringed Dragonfly -so name for the bright yellow rings extending down the abdomen.
