Jim Almond has recorded Downy Emerald at Mousecroft Pool near Shrewsbury for the second year in a row! Jim’s photograph is taken from last year at Mousecroft Pool when we all thought this would be a one-off. To see this species again at this site is unexpected and great because it is not a private site. Please do get in touch if you see this species at any other locations, ideally with a photograph for verification.

Elsewhere Golden-ringed has put in a couple of very early appearances; firstly on 16th May  on the Upper East Onny and again on 21st May hawking along a stream near Brompton sewage works- no where near it’s expected habitat!
