Fiona Argyle has sent in this lovely photo of a female Common Hawker emerging from Boyne Water on Brown Clee Hill in South Shropshire on 15th June which is fairly early for this species. Reports of possible Southern Hawker have also started to come in and once confirmed I’ll put them on this years list. My own humble pond in Shrewsbury has also revealed 2 Common Darter exuviae in the last 2 days. Quite early again for this species and I can only assume they successfully dodged the thunderous downpours!
