Interesting records are coming in thick and fast! Firstly we have this great photo from Dave Emley who saw Small Red-eyed Damselfly at Prees Heath Common Reserve ridiculously early on 15th June. The following 2 photos show 2 male Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies seen by Julian Cartwright about 1km away from his recent sighting further down the slopes of Cleehill on a former largely silted up reservoir. This species has never been recorded at this particular location and this seems to be a growing trend this season! There has also been a recent unconfirmed report of Downy Emerald at Whixall Moss- this is unverified at present, but worth bearing in mind for anyone recording on the moss. And just to stabilise, Julian Cartwright has sent in some great photos of a male Golden-ringed Dragonfly and Common Hawker both seen near a ‘muddy puddle’ on Magpie Hill in South Shropshire.
